In terms of sustainability, Schloss Montabaur is also setting new standards. As early as 2009, we were honored by the European Union as a green building partner for our outstanding energy saving activities. In the past few years, nearly one million euros have been invested in a holistic energy concept. This saved us about 20 percent of energy consumption and reduced CO2 emissions by 18 percent. The generated electricity from the solar energy system of the glass dome operates the geothermal heat pumps, with which the conference center is heated and / or cooled. With the unique technology of our conference center, we are continuing to build on the successes achieved in the environmental sector.
